Welcome to this month's Magical Blogorail Orange loop. Today we are sharing some of the best breakfast spots at Disney.
When one thinks about popular character meals on Walt Disney World property, you usually think of Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary or Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. But rarely do you hear of any options at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
I'm here today to tell you that if you're not doing breakfast at Disney's Animal Kingdom, you should reconsider your strategy right now.
Donald's Breakfast Safari at Tusker House Restaurant is one of the best in-park character breakfast experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. The food is unique and delicious, the characters are friendly and playful and the location is prime.

LocationTusker House Restaurant is located in the Africa section of the Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. It's toward the rear of the park directly across from the entrance of the park's signature attraction, Kilimanjaro Safari.
Like many in park breakfast options, you may make a reservation for Tusker House prior to the opening of the park. I highly recommend doing so. When you arrive at the park prior to opening, there's an entrance where you can tell a Cast Member your name and they'll allow you to enter the park early. When doing so, you'll get incredible views of this beautiful park with very few guests in your way. Photopass photographers are already out and ready to take your photo and you're guaranteed a wonderful shot.
After your meal you are in a prime location to hop on Kilimanjaro Safari, which is always significantly better in the morning hours when the park is cooler and the animals are the most active.
Character ExperienceAt Tusker House Restaurant you'll have the opportunity to meet:
The restaurant is pretty large and expansive so there's plenty of room to move around and play with the characters. In fact, Donald led a conga line through the restaurant during our last visit and Goofy proposed to the girl at the table next to me. The characters are all wearing their safari gear.

CuisineTusker House Restaurant features all of your standard Disney breakfast fare, including scrambled eggs, Mickey waffles, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, cereals, fruit, etc.
But you'll also get items that you may not see at every breakfast buffet. There is a pretty extensive selections of frittatas, quiches and sweet plantains. There's also an absolutely delicious coconut sweet potato casserole (weird, I know, but scrumptious) and amazing desserts. Yes, desserts for breakfast. The best, in my opinion, is the banana-cinnamon bread pudding.
You can view the full menu on Disney's website.
- Cost - Adult price: approximately $30; Child price: approximately $17
