I've been going to Walt Disney World for the past 27 years. There are very few attractions I haven't experienced over those years. And what I didn't do when visiting on family vacations, I made sure I experienced when I was on my Walt Disney World College Program and Professional Internship.
There are few attractions I tend to avoid, whether consciously or unconsciously. When I'm at Epcot, I tend to skip Mission: SPACE because it makes me a little queasy. At Hollywood Studios, I don't often go see Beauty and the Beast stage show because it's hot. At Animal Kingdom, I rarely go on Kali River Rapids because I am uncomfortable walking around in wet sneakers all day.
Yet if I'm with a group and they want to experience any of the above attractions, I'm always IN!
There is one attraction that inevitably starts a fight between my husband and I each trip, and it's at the Magic Kingdom. (He's rolling his eyes at me as I type this as well)
Believe it or not, I have NEVER experienced SWISS FAMILY TREEHOUSE!

Why? Well there are a couple reasons. When I was a child we always visited in August, and much like the Beauty and the Beast stage show (mentioned above, which is fabulous by the way) it was simply too hot to climb a tree. Now, my reason is much more practical. I panic when I feel slightly claustrophobic. Therefore, it never appealed to me.
My husband whines every single time we pass the attraction. I always offer to wait and outside and have a refreshing Dole Whip while he enjoys the Swiss Family Treehouse, but somehow that always results in the two of us eating Dole Whips!
Honorable mention: Stitch's Great Escape. (I just can't!)

Who wants to climb a tree in the heat!? I'm on your side! :P Although I do hear you get some amazing views up there! :P x
We haven't climbed the treehouse for YEARS now - since my oldest was little, I'd say. But, I recently saw some pictures of the castle taken from up there; so now I'm bound and determined that we're doing it next time. It will be December, so I can't use the "too hot" excuse!
December is a much better time to visit the treehouse than August! Your kids are growing up and I don't have any! So maybe when we have kids I'll let my husband partake in treehouse fun! Thanks for stopping by Heidi!
I hear that as well! I prefer taking my photos from the top of Splash Mountain, and at least that's an easy way to keep cool. Thanks Amanda :)
LOL! I promise to take a picture from up there just for you!
One day I'll make it to the top.
When the kiddies come, I'll let you take them while I enjoy a refreshing Dole Whip in peace. :)
Thanks Heidi! :)
I miss Alien Encounter. SO SO MUCH! One of my favorite rides in Disney World. They need to bring that back as I laugh with glee at the terrified screams coming from all around me.
Briccio - I do too. I understand that it wasn't as exciting to people who had experienced the attraction before; however, I was just excited to hear the newbies shriek in terror. And they could've made little tweaks to the show to keep it fresh. :) Stitch is a downgrade, a huge downgrade.
Body Wars was rough - my mom always got sick on that one. It's on their "seasonal" list but I can't remember the last time it was open. (Probably my college program!) I actually like the "kiddie" rides - you should check them out again soon. You'll really like the new Little Mermaid attraction.
You can do it someday! It's not that bad.
Hmm, now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever been in the Treehouse either. Guess I'll have to add it to the to-dos for my next trip!
We should go together! Make it a special Blogorail trip! "Reporting from the top of the treehouse..."
Next time I go in the fall or winter I will check it out. I promise :)
I completely agree! It scared me a little, but I could manage it just to hear how freaked out the others around me got. My husband thought it was the BEST thing. We've been on it once since they changed it, and I don't plan to ever go on it again if I can help it. :-(
